A straightforward registration process with 4Site Recruitment is important for our team. This makes getting on-site as hassle-free as possible for our candidates and internal team. It ensures that all of the relevant information is gathered on our systems, speeding up the process to get our TRIBE on site.
What Our Team Needs to Register You:
Personal Details
Our team needs to be able to contact our candidates whenever necessary. Our team will ask you for your full name, postcode, email address, and phone number when you are being registered.
Type of Employment
We offer temporary/contract and permanent work for our trades, labour, and management opportunities.
Working as a Contractor with 4Site:
Once our team has confirmed a project for you to work as a contractor, we will direct you to our payroll provider to offer CIS or PAYE options of pay (we don’t work with umbrella pay). You will then provide your personal and financial details to them, and they can pay you weekly.
Preferences of Pay – CIS or PAYE
CIS:
If you have a UTR number and are self-employed, we pay weekly through SHMS. As a result of this, they charge £16/week (including insurance – public liability and accidents) for earnings over £200 (regardless of hours worked), and £8/week for earnings under £200. You’ll be taxed a flat 20%. You can claim expenses like travel and tools at the end of the financial year.
Please note that 4Site Recruitment aren’t tax advisors. Please seek tax advice from a professional body.
PAYE:
If you don’t have a UTR number, we’ll pay you as PAYE, where taxes are deducted monthly and cannot be reclaimed.
Right to Work (For Both British and Non-British Workers):
British Workers:
We require our candidates to prove their right to work in the UK before we can place you on site. This is a legal requirement. However, how to do this depends on your nationality and what kind of permission you have to work in the UK.
You need to provide proof of your right to work in the UK, such as a British or Irish passport (current or expired). If you don’t have a passport, a UK or Irish birth/adoption certificate, or a certificate of registration/naturalisation as a British citizen, along with an official letter or document from a previous employer or government agency, is accepted.
Non-British Workers:
For those who are not from the UK, you can prove your right to work with your passport and a share code or your immigration documents. Candidates can get a share code from this link. There are many different residential/work visas for the UK. Please seek professional advice for guidance on which visa you are eligible for here.
Relevant Tickets:
Depending on the job you are looking for, sites may require candidates on specific jobs to have certain tickets. Therefore, typical tickets our candidates might require are CSCS Cards, Trade Certifications (e.g., ECS), SMSTS, SSSTS.
Here is an outline of what typical tickets are for:
- CSCS – Provides proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do.
- ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) – Allows those working in the electrical industry to evidence their skills and qualifications and the disciplines they are competent to work in.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – For project managers, site managers, supervisors, business owners, and clients to be able to run/manage sites.
- SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) – For site supervisors, to learn about the legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare, and environmental issues.
- Traffic Marshall – An awareness course that helps learners understand how to fulfil their role of supporting safe vehicle and mobile plant operations.
The 4Site team can suggest which tickets will be beneficial for you to get based on your experience and the type of work you’re looking for. Next, we can direct you to the CITB to find an approved training provider. For additional information, please click here.
References from Previous Employers:
We need references from your two most recent managers, or x2 managers within the last 2 years. References will need to include their name, position, company, phone number, and email address. This is crucial for us to ensure quality and reliability for our clients.
Once the team has all of this information, our team will do the rest and find you the perfect role!
